Industrial Hygienist

Support company safety and industrial hygiene policies by participating in the development of safety and industrial hygiene policies and procedures.  Implement and direct the implementation of specific programs such as respiratory protection, radiation protection, hearing conservation, and employee exposure monitoring.  Oversee the Industrial Hygiene programs to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Corporate requirements.  Recommend solutions for all facets of IH program and other safety-related areas as needed.  Provide expertise during new product/process reviews.  Assist site with assessments related to IH programs, chemical safety, PPE.  Work independently with departments to identify, evaluate, and implement specific safety and industrial hygiene procedures.  Support and monitor compliance with Industrial Hygiene programs such as Employee Exposure Monitoring, Ventilation, Respiratory Protection, Heat Stress, Hearing Conservation, and Radiation Protection.  Conduct, analyze, and report the results of workplace surveys in support of the Industrial Hygiene programs to characterize exposures to chemical, physical, and biological agents.  Present safety and industrial hygiene training in support of corporate, state, and federal regulations.  Coordinate activities with corporate IH programs.  Provide support for the evaluation of new products.  Assist in any development and implementation of Occupational Health and Safety databases.  Represent department on multi-disciplinary technical teams and committees.  Act as Radiation Safety Officer.  Provide IH sampling program to ensure potential exposures are adequately controlled and compliance with regulatory requirements.  Coordinate the initiation of SHE requirements/programs to the site.  Keeping abreast of site changes to ensure SHE compliance.  Manage the safety and health evaluation of new products and processes to the site.  Work in a safe and responsible manner in order to create an injury-free and incident-free workplace.  Comply with all job-related safety and other training requirements.

BS/BA in industrial hygiene related field plus 4 years relevant experience.  Or AA/AS degree in an occupational health related field plus 5 years relevant experience.  Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is preferred.  Extensive knowledge of basic safety procedures as well as State, Federal, OSHA, ANSI regulations.  Knowledge of computer databases and data input requirements.  Knowledge of theory and operation together with experience with Industrial Hygiene equipment.
